IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The maps illustrate the changes in a farm called beechwood farm from the year 1960 and in present.

Overall , it is clearly seen that most of the structural changes has been made in northeast corner of farm, whilst some layout were being upgraded without changing their place.

First of all, in the year 1950 largest area was used for cattle farming, especially sheep farming which is later divided into 2 part, one for solar panels and the other one Being used as a camping field with parking space into north corner besides the road. In the year 1950 there was a barn, Besides the track, which is now used for holiday cottages. Behind the holiday cottages, there is a farm house and chicken farm, which are as similar as they were in past.

Furthermore, the track is now became a road, as well as a barn is also developed at a corner of road triangle near the vegetable farm.However, few farms, such as fruit trees, soft fruit and vegetables are not changed, But small farm shop is developed on the corner of the fruit feild besides the farm road and main road.
