Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response covers the main features of the farm's transformation, such as the removal of sheep and the addition of holiday cottages and solar panels. However, the overview is poorly constructed and lacks clarity. The description of the changes is somewhat disjointed, and the comparison between 1950 and the present is not always precise. For example, stating that 'almost several objects was same place' is vague and does not effectively highlight the key differences. To improve, you should provide a clearer summary of the overall trends, such as the shift from agricultural production to tourism-related facilities, and ensure that all comparisons are explicitly linked to the provided data.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is weak. The introduction is fragmented, and the transition between the overview and the body paragraphs is abrupt. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link sentences and ideas effectively; for instance, the use of 'now' and 'again' is unnatural and does not help the flow of the text. Referencing is also inconsistent, making it difficult for the reader to follow the spatial changes described. Using a wider range of linking words such as 'furthermore', 'in contrast', or 'subsequently' would significantly improve the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'place', 'things', and 'changed', which do not demonstrate the range required for higher bands. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'moderated with another spaces' and 'in Fruit trees Farm shop was upgraded'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise vocabulary related to maps and changes, such as 'converted', 'replaced', 'expanded', or 'redeveloped', and ensure that your word choices are contextually appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('The plans shows', 'changes has been changed', 'many things was enhanced') and incorrect sentence structures. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with misplaced apostrophes and capitalization errors. While you attempt to use some complex ideas, the lack of control over basic grammar makes the writing difficult to read. You should focus on mastering simple sentence structures first, ensuring correct subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage, before attempting more complex grammatical forms. Proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and verb forms is essential.
