Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the transformation, such as the solar plant, parking areas, and the conversion of the track. However, the report lacks a clear, analytical overview. The summary provided is somewhat disjointed and fails to highlight the most significant trends, such as the shift from agricultural focus to commercial/recreational use. While the key changes are identified, the description of the layout is occasionally confusing, particularly regarding the spatial relationships between the new features. To improve, ensure the overview synthesizes the information rather than just listing changes, and focus on providing a more structured comparison between the two time periods.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often interrupted by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. The use of cohesive devices is sometimes repetitive or misused, such as 'On the first hand' and 'On the other hand,' which are not appropriate for describing map changes. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the spatial progression across the site. While the paragraphing is present, the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the cohesion necessary for a higher band, as the sentences do not always link logically to one another.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and contains several inaccuracies that hinder precision. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'sloar', 'oppoisite', 'thier', 'vegeteables') and word choice issues (e.g., 'contracted with a road' instead of 'replaced by a road'). While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'solar plant' and 'camping field,' the overall range is narrow and lacks the flexibility required for a higher score. The repetition of basic verbs like 'constructed' and 'added' further limits the lexical variety. Focusing on accurate spelling and more precise collocations would significantly improve this score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are consistent issues with verb tense consistency (e.g., 'Major changes were happened', 'changes tookplace'), subject-verb agreement, and article usage. The sentence structures are predominantly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences, and those that are attempted often contain errors in punctuation or word order. For example, 'between them their is an road' is grammatically incorrect. To progress, the student needs to focus on basic sentence construction, correct tense usage for describing past and present states, and improving punctuation.
