The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The plans illustrate the differences applied to a site of a farm- Beachwood farm- since 1950. From an overall perspective, it is clear the farm transformed from a purely agricultural site into a commercial and recreational venue. .

The zones specified for planting corps such as fruit trees, soft fruits, and vegetables have not changed across the years, except building a farm shop in the fruit trees area. Additionally, the sheeps pasture transformed completely into a camping field and a zone for solar panels, each one of them containing parking areas alongside them rather inside them.

Furthermore, the track in 1950's plan has developed into a road by today. The barn has been moved to the end of the road and replaced by holiday cottages which appears beside the farmhouse and chickens' zone, which are located in the same place as they were in 1950. It is also noted that Beachwood Farm has been located on the right side of the river only rather than stretching into the other side.
