IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The given maps illustrate the beechwood farm in looked in 1950 and how the farm look changes after the renovation.
Overall, there are several changes occured in the given time period and today with addition and removal of some amenities.
In year 1950, there were fruit trees planted near the road whereas soft trees were located beside that. In addition, enormous vegetables were planted in the farm alongside the triangular track. There was a open space where chickens were kept outside the farmhouse and a barn was located behind the farmhouse. In spite of, the opposite side of the track, there was an large open place filled with sheeps while the beechwood farm build at the corner of river.
Furthermore, with the time, the farm evolved and filled all the leftout space with more useful things.
However, a farm shop is located around the fruit trees and refurbished the track into the road. In contrast, a triangular road joined with the barn beside the farmhouse and new holiday cottages created at the place of barn. Moreover, the opposite side cut into two spaces, a camping field is created in the open space with parking at tge edge of the road. On the other hand, solar panels are placed with shared parking space.
