IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The figures depict the comparison of a specific farming site in 1950 and the present day.

Overall, the key feature is that in the present day the site is transformed into more eco-friendly and tourist-friendly than in previous years which was mainly focused on agriculture. However, the total area of the place along with the track placement is identical to the previous years.

In the modern time, the area that was occupied by sheep in 1950 is now split into two parts, a camping field and solar panels. The noteworthy detail in this specific area is that the two parking slots included in both partitions, one near the designated camping area and the other is close to the solar panels. Both parking areas are designed to be near the roads.

The unchanged areas in the rest of the parts include fruit trees, soft fruits, vegetables, chickens and the farmhouse. The extra facility includes farm shops in the fruit tree area and the barn moved at the two roads end from the near farmhouse section. Moreover, the previous barn is now turned into a cottage for holidays.
