The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 7.5)

The provided picture illustrates the Beechwood farm in 1950 and how it has transformed now.

Overall, the farm has shifted from traditional animal farming to welcoming tourists and generating green energy. However, the areas used for growing crops have stayed the same.

In 1950, the large northern area was used for sheep. Today, this space contains a camping field, solar panels, a farm shop, and two parking lots. The old dirt tracks in the middle of the land have also turned into paved roads for cars.

In the southern part of the farm, the farmhouse and the chicken coop are still in the exact same spots. However, the old barn was moved to the end of the triangular road on the west side. In its original place, a row of holiday cottages has been built for visitors. Finally, the fruit trees, soft fruits, and vegetable patches on the right of the river have not changed at all.
