The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The given map provides information about the site a farm in 1950 and the present day.

Overall, it clear that the farm has undergone significant changes, with several agriculture areas being replaced by new building and facilities. The road and track system has also been changed.

In 1950, the farm mainly consisted of agriculture land. Fruit trees were located in the north-western part of the farm,while soft fruits and vegetables were grown in the central and southern areas. A road ran along with western side of the farm to the main road. There was also a farmhouse, a barn and chicken area in the eastern part of the farm. Sheep were kept in the northern area.

Today the farm has changed considerably. The fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetables area have been removed. A large sheep area now occupies the northern part of the farm. The road system has also been changed, with the new road running around the southern part of the farm.
