Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to cover the main features of the maps, but it is incomplete as the text ends abruptly mid-sentence ('other th'). While the overview identifies that there were changes, it lacks a clear, analytical summary of the most significant transformations. The description of the 1950 layout is somewhat detailed, but the description of the current layout is rushed and fails to provide a comprehensive comparison. Because the response is unfinished, it fails to fully address the task requirements, particularly in terms of reporting all main features and providing a coherent conclusion or summary.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive start. However, the logical flow is hindered by the incomplete nature of the final sentence. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In 1950', 'While', and 'In current time', but they are sometimes used mechanically or with grammatical errors (e.g., 'While in the right side of it , there was...'). The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the abrupt ending significantly disrupts the overall coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'chickens godown' (which is not standard English for a farm building) and 'huge construction' to describe the changes. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information with precision. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of variety and the use of non-standard terminology prevent the response from reaching a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with articles ('the river', 'the sheep yard'), prepositions ('in there place' instead of 'in their place'), and sentence structure. There are also punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after periods and incorrect comma placement. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. The incomplete final sentence further demonstrates a lack of control over complex structures and sentence completion.
