Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main features of the farm in both 1950 and the present day. You provided a clear overview and made relevant comparisons, such as the transition from a track to a road and the replacement of the sheep area with solar panels. However, the response could be improved by ensuring more precise descriptions of locations; for instance, describing the layout more systematically (e.g., north, south, east, west) would help the reader visualize the changes more effectively. Overall, you covered all parts of the task well, providing a clear summary of the transformation.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs detailing the changes. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'whereas', 'in the year 1950', and 'today', which help the reader follow the progression of time. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical, and the use of referencing could be more precise. For example, in the final paragraph, the transition between the description of the road and the changes to the barn could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two time periods.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'amendments', 'adjacent', and 'constructed'. There are some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'beachwood' (should be capitalized as a proper noun) and 'triangual' (spelling error). While you successfully describe the features of the farm, the range of vocabulary is somewhat limited; using more varied synonyms for 'constructed' or 'area' would enhance the quality of your writing. The errors present do not impede communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical slips, particularly with articles (e.g., 'the farm is located alongside the river' should be 'the river', and 'in place of old barn' needs an article). Additionally, some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'The two images describe layout of the beechwood farm'. While you attempt complex structures, there are frequent minor errors in grammar and punctuation. However, these errors rarely impede the reader's understanding of the information presented.
