The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The map illustrates the planned redevelopment of Beechwood farm, comparing its 1950 layout with present condition. Overall, the map consists of several significant changes, each contributing to the transformation into tourist attraction place. Moreover, the replacement of sheep area with camping fields represents the most notable change and plays an essential role in the overall development.

At the top right corner, along the parking area, solar panels can be seen, while at the bottom right corner, barn is replaced with holiday cottages whereas farmhouse and chickens remained unchanged.

In the center, walking track is transformed into roads connected to barn. Space for sheep is modified to parking area along the road and multiple camping fields. Moving towards the bottom left, fruit shops, soft fruits and vegetable shops remained intact. The major addition in this area is of Farm shop along the road.

Overall, the map effectively highlights the key aspects of the planned redevelopment of farmhouse, showing a balanced, well organized, and easy to understand representation of the major changes.
