Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response successfully identifies the main features of the farm's transformation. You have clearly contrasted the 1950 layout with the present day, highlighting both the additions (camping field, shop, cottages) and the elements that remained unchanged. The overview is effective and provides a clear summary of the shift from an agricultural site to a tourist destination. To reach a higher band, ensure that all features are described with precise spatial references; for instance, the location of the solar panels could be more explicitly linked to the former sheep grazing area to improve the clarity of the comparison.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into four paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression from the introduction to the detailed body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Overall,' 'In 1950,' and 'Today,' to signal shifts in time and focus. However, the flow within the final paragraph is slightly repetitive due to the list-like structure of the sentences. Using more varied linking phrases or subordinating conjunctions would improve the cohesion. Additionally, ensure that referencing is consistent; for example, the transition between the old barn and the new holiday cottages is clear, but the connection between the road and the new barn could be smoother.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, using terms like 'transformed,' 'facilities,' 'converted,' and 'established' appropriately. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'agricultural area' (should be 'an agricultural area') and 'despite all these development' (should be 'developments'). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the meaning clearly, it lacks the sophistication and precision required for a higher band. Incorporating more specific descriptive language, such as 'repurposed' or 'integrated,' would enhance the lexical quality of your report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the farm has been transformed from agricultural area') and subject-verb agreement ('fruit trees... remains at the same location'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces before commas and some run-on sentence structures in the final paragraph. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic agreement and article usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
