Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to describe the changes between 1950 and the present day. However, it fails to provide a clear overview of the main trends, such as the transition from agricultural use to tourism and leisure facilities. The description of specific features is often unclear, such as the reference to 'twin site of regular day' and 'top of corner right side'. While some changes are identified, the lack of a formal structure and the informal, conversational tone hinder the ability to present a professional report. The response addresses the task, but the information is not well-selected or clearly reported.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into short paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often inaccurate, such as 'Apart of that' and 'Additionally i saw'. The referencing is frequently confusing, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the two time periods. The introduction does not effectively set the scene, and the conclusion is missing. The overall structure feels disjointed, with ideas presented in a list-like fashion rather than as a cohesive analysis of the map data.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is very basic and repetitive. There is a lack of precise terminology required for describing maps (e.g., 'developed into', 'replaced by', 'converted'). Phrases like 'twin site of regular day' and 'that place update with' are non-standard and impede clarity. The student relies on simple, everyday language rather than the academic register expected for Task 1. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'the idea of view the farm', which makes the writing difficult to interpret at times.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammatical control is weak, with frequent errors in sentence structure, verb tense, and word order. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper subject-verb agreement, such as 'some areas is still same' and 'in year 1950 i view place of track'. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing articles and incorrect capitalization. These errors occur throughout the text and frequently cause difficulty for the reader, preventing the response from reaching a higher band.
