Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response identifies the main features of the farm in 1950 and today, such as the addition of solar panels, a shop, and parking. However, the description is somewhat superficial. The comparison between the two periods lacks precision; for instance, stating that 'a lot of things are the same' is vague. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific details about the spatial changes, such as the removal or relocation of certain features, and use more precise comparative language to highlight the transformation of the site.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow is hindered by a lack of cohesive devices. The transition between the description of 1950 and the current state is abrupt. You rely heavily on simple conjunctions like 'and' rather than using a variety of linking words or phrases to connect ideas (e.g., 'In contrast,' 'Furthermore,' 'Consequently'). Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of the changes described.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'area,' 'farm,' and 'things.' There are several spelling errors ('Acroding,' 'thins') and awkward collocations ('the development the farm got'). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the basic meaning, it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You should aim to use more descriptive adjectives and specific nouns related to map descriptions, such as 'converted,' 'expanded,' or 'replaced.'

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('they all are in the same directions'), missing articles, and incorrect preposition usage. Sentence structures are predominantly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with run-on sentences and missing commas. These errors occasionally impede the flow of the text, though the overall message remains understandable.
