Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to describe the changes between 1950 and today, but it fails to provide a clear overview or highlight the most significant trends. The information is presented as a list of features rather than a structured comparison. While the main elements are mentioned, the lack of an introductory summary or a clear distinction between the two time periods makes the report difficult to follow. The description of the current layout is somewhat disorganized, and the comparison between the two maps is underdeveloped. To improve, you should focus on grouping information logically (e.g., infrastructure, agricultural features, and accommodation) and providing a clear summary of the major changes.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response lacks paragraphing, which makes it difficult to navigate the information. There is no clear logical progression; the text jumps between features without using effective cohesive devices to link ideas. Referencing is often unclear, such as using 'in the start of the farm' or 'in the next', which does not clearly indicate spatial relationships. While the text is readable, the lack of structure and the repetitive use of simple connectors like 'and' or 'in the' hinder the flow. Using transition words like 'whereas', 'conversely', or 'subsequently' would significantly improve the coherence of your report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'farm', 'side', and 'things'. There are several spelling errors, such as 'abrn' (barn), 'chikens' (chickens), 'smal' (small), and 'cenyter' (center), which detract from the quality of the writing. While you successfully identify some features like 'solar panels' and 'holiday cottage', the range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information with precision. To reach a higher band, try to use more descriptive verbs and nouns related to map analysis, such as 'transformed', 'replaced', 'situated', or 'adjacent to'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response relies heavily on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the farm consist', 'the sheeps are') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing spaces after periods. The attempt to use complex structures is minimal, and the errors present often make the text feel disjointed. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses for past and present descriptions, and practicing the correct use of articles and plurals.
