Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main features of the maps, such as the replacement of the track with roads and the addition of solar panels and parking. However, the description is somewhat superficial. It fails to provide a clear overview or summary of the most significant changes, such as the transition from a purely agricultural site to one with tourism-related facilities. The information is presented as a list of changes rather than a cohesive report, and some details, like the specific location of the barn, are described in a way that is difficult to follow. To improve, you should group related changes together and provide a clear introductory summary of the overall transformation.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is divided into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical flow is weak. The transition between the description of 1950 and the present day is abrupt. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas; for example, the second paragraph is a series of simple sentences joined by 'and'. The use of referencing is also unclear, particularly when describing the location of the barn and the new road. To improve, use a wider range of linking words such as 'whereas', 'subsequently', 'in contrast', and 'furthermore' to guide the reader through the changes.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'everything has been changed' and 'in place of' are used frequently. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'in today time' instead of 'today' or 'currently', and 'the barn has be shifted' (grammatical error affecting lexical accuracy). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe the spatial changes effectively. You should aim to use more precise terminology for map descriptions, such as 'replaced by', 'converted into', 'relocated', and 'extended'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('This illustration compare'), missing articles ('in fruits trees'), and tense usage ('how time has been changed'). The sentence structures are predominantly simple, with very few attempts at complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with run-on sentences and missing commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring verbs agree with their subjects, and using prepositions correctly when describing locations on a map.
