Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all key features of the maps, including the retention of original elements and the addition of new facilities. You have successfully identified the main trends, such as the modernization and commercialization of the site. However, the description of the changes is slightly repetitive, and some details, such as the specific locations of the new buildings, could be more precisely described to enhance the comparison. The overview is clear and provides a good summary of the transformation, meeting the requirements for a Band 6.5 or 7.0 response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs that separate the past from the present. The use of cohesive devices like 'While', 'Meanwhile', and 'Moreover' helps to guide the reader. However, the transition between the third and fourth paragraphs is slightly abrupt, and the referencing of locations (e.g., 'left side of the farmhouse') could be more precise to improve the flow of information. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and the progression of ideas is clear.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'redevelopment', 'modernised', and 'visitor-friendly'. There are some minor errors in word choice and phrasing, such as 'the track of the beechwood farm' and 'a fruits trees' (plural/article mismatch). While you attempt to use more specific vocabulary, some of these errors slightly detract from the precision of your report. Expanding your range of collocations related to map descriptions would help elevate your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical slips, particularly with articles ('the track', 'a fruits trees', 'a block of holiday cottages') and pluralization. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher band score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of definite and indefinite articles when describing specific features on a map.
