The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given maps illustrate the outlines of the Beechwood farm from present day comparing it with the 1950's site.

Overall, the farm had undergone several changes. But the main road towards north and the river to the south is remained same throughout. During 1950, the farm is very basic with large amount of sheep space, whereas today, it developed almost into in a structured farm with various facilities. Back then, the farm had only a normal track ways which are now transformed into advanced roads. The farmhouse and poultry remained same till today.

In 1950, half of the land is occupied by cattle i.e., sheep. The remaining space is filled with fruit, vegetable garden with some amount of land for barn crop.

In terms of today, the farm has equipped with solar panels, large trees with camping nets. However, the roads led to some parking areas. While a holiday cottage and a farm shop are new inventions. The barn field is reduced some amount and changed its spot compared to 1950s.
