The two distinct diagram compares the Beechwood farm from 1950 to its current configuration.
Overall, a significant change can be observed, many new infrastructure has been added, modified and few have been shifted from its original position. The old layout shows huge open areas which have been utilized to establish amenities catering tourists.
In the year 1950, there was only one paved road stretching from west to north and all the other developments were on its right. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the farm's transformation well. You have successfully identified the key changes, such as the addition of amenities like the camping field and solar panels, and the relocation of the barn. However, the overview could be more precise; while you mention 'many new infrastructure', it would be better to specify the nature of the shift from agricultural to tourism-focused land use. The description of the 1950 layout is clear, though some details, such as the specific location of the fruit trees, could be integrated more smoothly into the comparison with the current layout to enhance the analytical quality of the report.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. The progression of ideas is generally clear, moving from the historical state to the current configuration. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'In the year 1950', 'Furthermore', and 'In the current configuration', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are a bit mechanical, and the referencing could be improved; for example, the phrase 'all the other developments were on its right' is slightly vague. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and contributes to a coherent structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'infrastructure', 'amenities', 'husbandry', and 'configuration'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For instance, 'human need' is unnatural in this context, and 'sheeps' is an incorrect plural form (the plural of sheep is sheep). Additionally, 'sandwich' is used incorrectly as a verb here. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise terminology for describing spatial changes and ensure correct pluralization and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('many new infrastructure has been added' should be 'have been added'), incorrect verb forms ('new farm house is build' should be 'has been built'), and article usage errors. These errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on consistent tense usage and subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your accuracy.
