Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response successfully covers all key features of the maps. You have clearly identified the main changes, such as the replacement of the sheep pasture with tourist facilities and the development of the road network. The overview is concise and effectively highlights the modernization of the farm. You have made relevant comparisons between 1950 and the present day, and the information is well-selected. To reach a higher band, ensure that all descriptions are precise; for instance, you mention the barn was 'relocated', but the map suggests it was demolished and a new building was constructed elsewhere, which is a subtle but important distinction in map interpretation tasks.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use transition signals such as 'Overall', 'In addition', and 'Today' to guide the reader through the changes. However, some transitions are slightly awkward or informal, such as 'by having cursory glance it is vivid that' and 'moving further ahead'. These phrases feel a bit mechanical or unnatural in an academic context. Improving the flow between sentences by using more sophisticated cohesive devices would enhance the overall coherence of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary to describe the changes, using terms like 'modernised', 'relocated', and 'constructed'. There are some minor issues with word choice and phrasing, such as 'The map chart illustrate' (should be 'illustrates') and 'by having cursory glance'. While these do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over academic collocations. Expanding your repertoire to include more varied verbs for change (e.g., 'transformed', 'converted', 'expanded') would help elevate your score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement ('The map chart illustrate') and punctuation issues, particularly the comma usage in 'it is vivid that ,In 1950'. Additionally, the phrase 'information about that, the compare' is grammatically incorrect. While the meaning remains clear, these errors occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring correct punctuation around introductory clauses will significantly improve your accuracy.
