The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

the two pictures of a farm site in 1950 and today, shows a clear contrast of how spaces were used in earlier times and how they are used today.

the beechwood farm in 1950 was spacious and had a large field dedicated for sheep grazing but today that same space is used for human entertainment like camping site and solar panels.

the tracks in 1950 are made into roads, so that people can easily visit. most of the space is used for parking near the main highway. however, the land for soft fruits and vegetables remain untouched. the fruit trees farm has a farm shop nowadays, which has significantly reduced the harvesting land for fruit trees.

the barn is now dramatically smaller than it was in 1950 and shifted so that it shares the space where once only chickens were. for entertainment purposes holiday cottages are also built reducing the space for farmhouse.
