IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The illustration gives information about the site of a current Beechwood Farm comparing in the year of 1950. Overall, there are additions of farm shop, parking, camping field, solar panels and holiday cottages.

It is quite evident from the diagram that in 1950, the Farm was consisted of sheep area, fruit trees, soft fruits, vegetables, barn and chickens. There was a triangle shaped track. There was a river on the lower side of the farm.

Meanwhile, nowadays the farm has few changes. The sheep area is converted into parking, solar panels and camping field. He triangle shaped tracks are changed into roads. There is an addition of farm shop in the area of fruit trees. The farmhouse and chickens are still on the same places while the holiday cottages took the barn's place and barn is shifted into lower side near the triangle roads. The river is still there.
