The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The maps depict the developments took place in Beechwood farm from 1950 to today.

Overall, the farms has been transformed into a place for tourists. Plan for renewable energy is introduces, and many facilities are replaced, while the fields remained relatively unchanged.

The Beechwood farm developed significantly over the period. The former tracks are paved over to built new roads. The place, previously allocated for sheep is divided into 2 segments. New solar panels are installed for electricity in one section, while a camping field is built in the other. However, both parts have a parking lot.

On the lower side of the map, the fields for fruits and vegetables remained largely the same; however, a small shop is introduced on the corner of the main road. The previous barn is replaced by holiday cottages, while the farmhouse and the place built for chickens remained unchanged. A new barn is built adjacent to the farmhouse and connected to the triangular road.
