The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The maps illustrates the site of a farm in 1950 and its outlook of present day. It is pictoral explanation of old and updated Beechwood Farm.

Overall, the farm has transition from traditional agricultural and livestock facility into a tourism focused estate powered by green energy, with sinificant infrastrucure modernizations.

In 1950, the northeastern and southern sections of farm were dedicated to livestock specifically chickens and sheep. today, those animals have entirely gone. This area is converted into a parking area for visitors that stay in holiday cottages that are also a new addition. The former sheep pastuire has been repurposed into a campaign field and a designated zone for four solar pannels.

Regarding infrastructure and crops, the original dirt have been upgraded into a paved road system. While the fruit trees and soft fruits have been preserved, the central vegetable patchhas also retained. Additionally, the old barn in the center was moved further west near the vegetables and a farm shop was also added.
