Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to describe the changes at Beechwood Farm, but it fails to accurately report the main features. The description is confusing and often contradicts the visual evidence (e.g., claiming there is 'no specific development' in fruit trees, when the map clearly shows a significant expansion of orchards). The summary is vague, and the inclusion of irrelevant commentary about 'customers' and 'super marts'—which are not present in the diagrams—indicates a failure to correctly interpret the data. To improve, focus on objectively describing the physical changes, such as the addition of the camping area, the solar panels, and the expansion of the orchard, rather than speculating on business success.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The introduction is repetitive, and the body paragraphs lack a clear structure. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often misused or placed awkwardly, such as 'On the other hand regarding today farm house building'. The transition between ideas is frequently disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between 1950 and the present day. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear thematic focus would significantly enhance the flow of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often imprecise. Phrases like 'limited resources of these sustenance' and 'better enhancement' are unnatural and do not accurately describe the map features. There is also a tendency to use words incorrectly, such as 'valuable assets' to describe farm facilities. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the lack of precision and the inclusion of irrelevant terms (e.g., 'super mart') hinder the clarity of the report. A wider range of precise, descriptive vocabulary related to maps and spatial changes is required.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'a large building are', 'customers is attracted') and article usage. Sentence structures are often simplistic or fragmented, and the punctuation is inconsistent. While there is an attempt to use complex sentences, these are often poorly constructed, leading to confusion. To reach a higher band, the student needs to focus on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly in verb agreement and sentence construction, before attempting more complex structures.
