Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to describe the changes between 1950 and today, but it fails to accurately report the main features. The description is confusing and often contradicts the visual evidence (e.g., claiming there is 'no specific development' in fruit trees when the map shows a significant expansion of orchards). The summary lacks a clear overview of the most striking changes, such as the transition from a simple farm to a commercialized site with holiday cottages and solar panels. The information is presented in a disorganized manner, making it difficult for the reader to follow the chronological or spatial changes effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as 'On the other hand regarding today farm house building show...' which does not effectively link ideas. The referencing is frequently unclear; for example, it is difficult to determine what 'A valuable assets increase more facilities' refers to in the context of the paragraph. The conclusion does not effectively summarize the main points but rather introduces vague, repetitive statements that do not synthesize the information provided in the body paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often inappropriate for an academic report. Phrases like 'super mart' and 'grocery sector' are inaccurate descriptions of the farm's features. There is a reliance on repetitive and imprecise language, such as 'development' and 'facilities,' which are used without clear context. Some word choices are awkward or incorrect, such as 'Exceeding sustenance in mart,' which obscures the meaning. To reach a higher band, you need to use more precise terminology related to map descriptions, such as 'expanded,' 'converted,' 'replaced,' or 'installed.'
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'farm house building show,' 'more customers is attracted') and article usage (e.g., 'in 1950 and same as seen today'). Sentence structures are often fragmented or run-on, lacking the control required for complex sentences. While the meaning is generally discernible, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic sentence structure and ensuring verbs agree with their subjects.
