Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the ability to fully develop the response. While you have identified some main features, such as the removal of sheep and the addition of infrastructure, the analysis is underdeveloped. You have not provided sufficient detail or comparisons to fully address the task. The summary is incomplete, and the lack of length prevents a comprehensive overview of the changes between 1950 and the present. To improve, ensure you describe all major changes in detail and provide a clear, structured comparison.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. While there is an attempt at an introduction and body paragraphs, the progression of ideas is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical, such as the abrupt transition 'However' and 'The other major changes are'. Paragraphing is present but ineffective due to the brevity of the text. To improve, use a wider range of linking words to connect your ideas logically and ensure each paragraph has a clear focus, such as grouping changes by type (e.g., infrastructure vs. agricultural use).

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and contains several errors in word form and choice. For example, you used 'enormous modify' instead of 'enormous modifications' and 'all sheep has been disappeared' instead of 'all sheep have disappeared'. These errors occasionally impede the flow of the text. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to map descriptions, such as 'transformed', 'converted', or 'replaced', and ensure correct word forms are used consistently.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('all sheep has been disappeared'), incorrect verb tenses ('barn has modify'), and awkward phrasing ('the farm is excepted to go'). The range of sentence structures is limited, relying mostly on simple or slightly flawed complex sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses for describing past and present states, and ensure that subject-verb agreement is maintained throughout your writing.
