IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The maps illustrstes the transformation of Beechwood Farm from how it looked in 1950 and how it looks today.
Overall, the farm has developed many sites for holidays and camping replacing animal farms converting it to a tourist and recreational site. Additionally, the tracks have been developed into roads and new parking areas have been added as well.
The farm had a large sheep farm in 1950 which has been replaced by a number of public amenities including camping site, parking areas, one along the east road and one at the northern end of the main road. Solar panels have been installed too at the right top corner of the previously labelled sheep farm.
The tracks have been converted into roads with setting up a barn at the southern end of the triangular junction. A new holiday cottage has been introduced just to the top of the farmhouse. A new farm shop is setup in the fruit trees farm.
The fields of fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetables remained unchanged along with the farmhouse in the east.
