Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the maps, such as the conversion of the sheep area and the addition of new facilities like solar panels and a farm shop. However, the response lacks a clear, analytical overview. While you mention 'some changes', a high-scoring overview should synthesize the most significant trends, such as the shift from purely agricultural land use to a more diversified site including tourism and renewable energy. Additionally, some descriptions are slightly confusing, such as the location of the barn, which makes it difficult for the reader to visualize the changes accurately. To improve, focus on grouping information logically by area or theme rather than listing changes chronologically or randomly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the phrase 'After that' is used to transition between spatial descriptions, which is not appropriate for describing a map. Furthermore, there are several sentence fragments, such as 'Which is beside the highway and connected with the farm road,' which disrupt the flow of ideas. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'In contrast,' 'Furthermore,' 'Adjacent to') and ensuring that sentences are complete will significantly enhance the logical progression of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary to describe the changes, such as 'facilities,' 'solar panels,' and 'converted.' However, there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation that occasionally impede clarity, such as 'which is now develop' instead of 'which has now been developed.' Some phrasing is repetitive, and there is a lack of more sophisticated, precise vocabulary that would elevate the response. To reach a higher band, focus on using more varied verbs for change (e.g., 'transformed,' 'replaced,' 'expanded') and ensure that your word forms (nouns vs. verbs) are used correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('They are introduce'), incorrect verb tenses ('which was covered whole farm area'), and the misuse of relative clauses ('Which is attached with two side of the roads'). These errors are frequent enough to cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and a correctly conjugated verb, and practice the use of passive voice, which is essential for describing map changes.
