The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The plans illustrate the previous structure of beechwood farm in 1950 and the present layout.

Overall, it is evident that beechwood farm underwent significant transformation with the introduction of camping field, solar panel, roads, holiday cottage and two parking sections.

Regarding beechwood farm in 1950, at the south-east area was a barn, followed adjacently by a farmhouse and a chickens section below the farmhouse. Furthermore, on the eastern corner are tracks that runs across the farm which ends at the left side of the farm. However, some fruit trees was located immediately west, followed by an area used for soft fruits and a vegetables field whereas sheep are been reared at the large segment of the northeastern area of the farm. Subsequently, the farm is bounded by river from the buttom right to the top left corner.

Turning to the recent structure, section for sheep rearing has be converted to a field for camping at the northern side, an section towards the right was used for solar panels installation and a parking section situated at the west and eastern corner. Meanwhile, the barn has been relocated to where the roads intercepted and formal barn area has been converted to holiday cottages. However, the track has been developed into roads and a farm shop was constructed opposite to the fruit trees.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex structures.
