Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response provides a general overview of the changes, but it lacks a clear, analytical summary of the main trends. While it identifies some changes, such as the addition of solar panels and the farm shop, the description is fragmented and lacks a logical grouping of information (e.g., distinguishing between additions and removals). The comparison is somewhat superficial, and the report fails to highlight the most significant transformations effectively. To improve, you should provide a clear overview paragraph that synthesizes the main changes and ensure that the body paragraphs are organized by theme or area rather than listing features in a disjointed manner.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between sentences is often mechanical and repetitive. Phrases like 'In addition to this' and 'In addition' are used frequently, which makes the progression feel stilted. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'Many constructions observed beteen two plans,' which lacks a clear subject. The conclusion is also weak, as it repeats the introductory idea rather than summarizing the key findings. Improving the use of cohesive devices and ensuring each paragraph has a clear focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic verbs like 'developed', 'built', and 'constructed'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'major area occupied by sheep' (which is grammatically awkward) and 'relocated towards right side in east direction' (which is redundant). To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise vocabulary related to maps and changes, such as 'transformed', 'converted', 'expanded', or 'demolished'. Additionally, ensure that you use articles and prepositions correctly, as errors like 'in 1950s plan' (missing 'the') occur frequently.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are consistent issues with article usage ('the 1950s plan'), subject-verb agreement ('Parking have been constructed'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain fragments, such as 'Many constructions observed beteen two plans.' There is a lack of complex sentence structures, which limits your ability to express comparisons effectively. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including the correct use of passive voice for describing map changes, and proofread carefully to eliminate minor errors in tense and pluralization.
