IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The map given below shows the Beechwood farm in 1950 and the Beechwood farm, after numerous developments, today.
Overall, many upgrades have taken place in this farm since 1950 such as installed solar panels, introduced new holiday cottages, added camping field, replaced track with new roads, and etc.
The main road, river, and the land for fruit trees, soft fruits, vegetables, is unchanged since 1950. The changes took place since then are farm shop is introduced which occupies little space in fruit trees area, the place used for sheep is now converted into a camping field and the camping field has the small portion of parking.
In the same camping field solar panels are installed, the track is converted into road, the holiday cottages have been replaced in the place of barn, the barn has been replaced to the joining of the roads, this upgrades gave farm numerous advantages like using area efficiently, helping the costs for electricity and etc.
