Student answer (Band 5.0)
when comparing both conditions of farm in 1950 and today significat changes have been made.
in 1950 only fruit trees were present but today it has farm shop along with the fruit tress and soft fruits and vegetables dont seem to have changed anything in them.
i can notice huge difference was made in the area, where sheeps were present now that are has parking in front of road and have a beautifull caming site for the people who want to explore the farm and along with them in the end of sheep are they have added solar panels which obviously help in electricity saving and another parking.
On the corner there is barn position change and instead of old barn location the have made holiday cottages for visitors and farm house and chicken area don't seem to have any chagne and barn is made on the other location and instead of track now there is fully functional road
in this time period beechwood farm has more focused to tourism and ways to reduce liablities.
for example, solar plant is added to reduce electricity bills.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response covers the main features of the maps, such as the addition of the farm shop, camping site, and solar panels. However, the report lacks a clear overview or summary of the overall trends. The description is somewhat disorganized, jumping between different areas of the farm without a logical flow. While the main changes are identified, the lack of a formal structure and the inclusion of subjective commentary (e.g., 'which obviously help in electricity saving') detract from the academic tone required for Task 1. To improve, ensure you group information logically, such as by area or by type of development, and provide a clear summary paragraph.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response lacks paragraphing, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of information. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas; sentences are often joined by simple conjunctions or run-on structures. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as 'that are' (likely meaning 'that area') and 'in the end of sheep are'. The lack of clear logical sequencing and the absence of paragraph breaks significantly hinder the flow of the report. Using transition words like 'Furthermore', 'In contrast', or 'Additionally' would help organize the information more effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are several spelling errors ('caming', 'beautifull', 'chagne', 'liablities') and awkward phrasing ('farm house and chicken area don't seem to have any chagne'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe the changes with precision; for example, using 'made' repeatedly to describe construction or changes. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise verbs and nouns related to map descriptions, such as 'converted', 'relocated', 'expanded', or 'demolished', and pay closer attention to spelling accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles ('in 1950', 'in end of sheep are'), incorrect verb tenses, and subject-verb agreement issues ('sheeps were present', 'barn position change'). Sentence structures are often run-on or fragmented, lacking the complexity expected at higher levels. Punctuation is largely absent, with a lack of capital letters at the start of sentences and missing commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation causes difficulty for the reader and prevents the use of a wider range of structures.
