The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The two maps illustrates the developments that have been taken place at the beechwood farm between 1950 to the present day.
Overall, the beechwood farm has undergone considerable developments, with construction of the new facilities along with the unchanged amenities. The track has been transformed into a road, while the barn has been replaced by the holiday cottages.
The area of farm occupied by the sheep in 1950 has been divided majorly into two zones; a camping field and an area where solar panels are installed. There is a parking constructed in the north-western corner of the camping field, while the second parking has been built is in the north-eastern corner of the area adjacent to the area where solar panels are installed. A notable modification has been made in the farm by converting the whole track into a road.
By contrast, the areas covered by the vegetables, soft fruits and fruit trees remained unchanged, as did the river. Similarly, the areas occupied by the chickens and the farmhouse remained in their locations. The barn has been replaced by several holiday cottages, whereas the barn has been relocated to an area next to the corner of the road in the south-eastern part of the farm.
