The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The layouts illustrate the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Overall, the plan has been transformed significantly. Although some structures remained unchanged, others have been demolished, and some new features have been introduced. Additionally, The track has been transformed into a road.

In 1950, the northern region was largely occupied by sheep, while the southeastern region along the track was a barn, and chickens on the lower side near the river. The farmhouse was located between the barn and chickens. On the left side was an area for vegetables, soft fruits and fruit trees were at the far end.

Currently, the area for soft fruits, vegetables, chickens and farmhouse remained unchanged. A farm shop has been constructed near the fruit trees. The region where barn was situated is now for holiday cottages and the barn has been relocated.

Furthermore, the track has been transformed into a road. Just above the road, two parking sections were introduced, one is opposite the holiday cottages and another is near the farm shop. A camping field is at the central area and solar panels are located at the north eastern part.
