The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The provided maps illustrate the changes that took place in Beechwood farm since 1950 and compare them with today.

Overall, it is evident that the farm has been developed, and new services have been added. However, few farming areas namely fruit trees, soft fruits, and vegetables farm has remained the same.

To begin with, the track that was there in 1950 has been renovated as road. The area which had only sheep farm has been done through major development. This area currently has divided into three sections, firstly one section serves the purpose of parking, secondly one section has a champing field, and thirdly one section has solar panels installed. Moreover, the barn has converted into holiday cottages, whereas farmhouse and chicken farm have remained the same. On the left side of farmhouse and chicken farm a barn has been made. The Beechwood farm has changed a lot compared to 1950, which can now cater to a lager population.
