Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers the main features of the transformation well. You successfully identified the key changes, such as the conversion of the sheep area into a camping field and solar panels, and the replacement of the barn with holiday cottages. However, the description is slightly repetitive and lacks a clear, analytical comparison in some areas. For instance, the mention of the 'barn' is slightly confusing as you state it was replaced by cottages in one paragraph but then mention it being added near the road in another. Ensuring your data is consistent and clearly grouped by location or theme would improve the clarity of your report.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of changes. You use some cohesive devices like 'In addition', 'Furthermore', and 'In the western part'. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical phrasing and some awkward transitions. The referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly regarding the barn's location and status. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that the relationship between sentences is more fluid and less list-like.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the main points, using terms like 'converted', 'constructed', and 'underwent significant changes'. However, the vocabulary is somewhat basic and repetitive. There are also minor errors in word choice and article usage, such as 'into camping field' (should be 'into a camping field') and 'the track was replaced by road' (should be 'by a road'). To improve, try to incorporate more precise descriptive language and ensure correct use of articles and prepositions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent errors in punctuation and grammar, such as missing articles ('in northern part of farm') and inconsistent capitalization ('Barn'). Some sentences are slightly disjointed, and the use of commas is inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering article usage and ensuring subject-verb agreement. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy will help you achieve a higher score in this criterion.
