IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The plans compare the site of the farm in 1950 and how it looks today after addition of new things.

Overall, few things are introduced in today's farm such as camping field, parking, solar panels and holiday cottages. Notably, fruit tress, soft fruits and vegetables remained at the same place as they were before.

In 1950, there were fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetables side by side along the river. However, with these shops there was a walking track. There was a huge area dominated for sheep. In addition, with the track there was a barn area, farm house and chickens.

In contrast, in today's beechwood farm some changes has been made. Fruit tress, soft fruits and vegetables are remained at the same place where they were in 1950. While, sheep area is replaced by camping field and solar panels. New parking areas have built near the solar panels and along side the road. Additionally, holidays cottages came in place of the barn. Farmhouse and chickens remained at same place.

Tracks are changed by roads. In today's farm barn placed at the end of triangular road.
