Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the farm's transformation, such as the replacement of cattle areas with tourist facilities and the addition of infrastructure. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with specific details from the diagrams. However, the response contains some inaccuracies in reporting; for instance, you mention that the 'poultry' area remains the same, but the diagrams show the chicken area has been removed or repurposed. Additionally, the description of the farm's layout in 1950 is slightly cluttered. To improve, ensure that your observations are strictly aligned with the visual data provided and focus on grouping features more logically to highlight the most significant changes.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs detailing the changes. You use some cohesive devices like 'In 1950', 'At present', and 'While', which help the reader follow the progression of time. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In additional' (should be 'In addition') and the repetitive use of 'while' and 'whereas' at the start of sentences. The flow between sentences could be smoother if you varied your linking words and ensured that referencing (e.g., 'these areas') is always clear and precise.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'facilities', 'relocated', and 'plantation'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'developed into more cultivate ways' and 'the track are modified with the road'. These errors occasionally distract the reader. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your vocabulary is used in the correct grammatical form. For example, instead of 'cultivate ways', consider 'commercialised' or 'modernised'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('the farm have been', 'the track are modified', 'the chickens are still remains') and incorrect verb tenses or passive voice constructions ('have be constructed'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. To improve, pay closer attention to basic subject-verb agreement and ensure that your passive voice constructions are formed correctly (e.g., 'has been constructed' instead of 'have be constructed').
