The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The given map illustrates the plan of a farm site recently and in 1950.
Overall, it can be seen that the major development has been done from the past till date as most of the North and East area was undeveloped in 1950 but got significant advancement. However, the South and West sites underwent few changes.
To compare the North-East side of farm, it can be depicted that in 1950, the North area was explicitly designed for sheep grazing; nevertheless, it is completely demolished and the land is now divided into different purposes like camping field, solar panels, and parking. Moreover, in the east, the location where barn was located is now converted into holiday cottages and the barn is shifted on the right side of the chicken area. Farmhouse and chicken area remained unchanged.
In the contrary, slight modifications can be observed in the South-West side because area designed for vegetables, soft fruits and fruit trees stays the same as it was in 1950. Noticeably, a farm shop is added in fruit trees area in today's map. Furthermore, the track is now converted into a road.
