The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The floor plans illustrate the site of a farm in 1950 and as of present day.

Overall, the farm has undergone major transformations in the north-east area of the farm. Although the layout has not changed, their are various new additions in the farm with the river and road being the same.

Initially, in the 1950s the farm was not developed much and had a large area designated to the sheeps for their grazing. The farm at that time had no farm shop of its own, and was dependent on the government electricity supply for the daily chores. Furthermore, there were no proper roads in the farm and had a track only.

Conversely, in the present day, the farm has been much more modernized and has been capitalized to generate income source as well. Now it is self reliant in terms of electricity as it houses solar panels, and also has parking facilities for the people arriving in the farm, which was possible by taking over the designated sheep area. The barn has been swapped places with the holiday cottages for the guests staying and now a proper road has been built as well. A camping field has also been setup for people who like it a little adventerous. The barn is now located at the tri - section of where roads meet
