The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The displayed plans delineate the site of a farm in the past and in the present time.
Overall, it is evident that significant changes have taken place and many original features have been modified or replaced over the time.
A quick glance at the representation reveals that in 1950, there was a sheep rearing area in the north which has now converted into camping field and solar panels along with parking in north-west corner of camp and south-east part of panels installation respectively. Further, the track which runs from north to east in1950 has been changed into road and a barn has been installed on the southern triangular tip of the road.
Turning to the rest of the details, in the south-east corner, holiday cottages have built instead of barn and the position of farmhouse and chickens remained intact. There has been no change in the position of the river in the south and that of vegetables and soft fruits in the middle but a small farm shop has been established near fruit trees in the present map.
