The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The diagram compares how the infrastructure of Beechwood farm changed from 1950 till today.

Overall, the strucure of the farm has dramatically changed involving the construction of new sites,and a few renovations of the existing sites. Furthermore, there has been no geographical expansion of the farm.

In 1950, there was a sheep site holding a considerable space towards the north-east of the map having a track connected starting from east and extending towards northwest, which was connected the main road . Moreover, around the farm there was a river connected at the back side of the fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetables, which were connected to the track from the front side. At the center there is a triangular roundabout linked to the barn having farmhouse opposite to it. Also there was a site right next to the farm.

In contrast today there are major areas developed leading to improved amenities. The track has been transformed to the road. While entering the forked road from northwest direction at the right hand there was a farm shop, on the left hand there is a addition of parking and camping field after demolishing the sheep site. Moreover, at the same space solar panels are installed at the top right corner, as well as a parking lot connected to the road towards the south direction. After knocking down the barn holiday cottages have been added.
