The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The two diagrams illustrate the Beechwood Farm in two different time in 1950 and today.

Overall, the farm in 1950 was much simpler and less crowded. Although many feayures changed over years, some sections remained unchanged.The 1950 diagram shows the river passing across the street passing by the plant sections including fruit trees, soft trees and vegetables, terminating at the section of farmhouse and the barn, the same sections are bordered from the other side by the track which overlooks the sheep field which later in future became an area for camping and for solar panels as well as two parking lots.

In the today's diagram, some noticeable modifications occured. For instance, the track was tranformed into a road connecting the main street with farm's sections, the first three sections on the right of the road remained the same with a farm shop built at the area of fruit trees. A new smaller barn was founded in the vicinty of the farmhouse with the older barn transformed to a sections for holiday cottage, and the chickens running in the same place around these sections.

While some features remained unchanged overtime, several improvements and extensions had taken place.
