The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The map depicts the changes that took place in the Beechwood farm in 1950 and in recent year.

Overall, the Beechwood farm has become more modernized, well-oeganized and visitor friendly over the 75-year period. Several new facilities are constructed such as a parking, the camping field and solar pannels, while some existing features are removed, redisgned and replaced.

Regarding the previous layout, to the north-west side of the map, sheep was located. In the middle part of the map, the track was moved to nouth-east side to west side with appropriate way. Farmhouse and Barn were located to the south-west side. Behind the farmhouse, chickens were added. The curve shaped river was passed across the north-east side to the west side. Above the river, fruit tress, soft fruits and vegetables were presented.

Turning to the present layout, several significant changes can be observed. the sheep has coverted into the camping field with reducing area. Both side of the camping field, the parking areas have been built. To the north-east side of the map, sonal pannels have developed. Farmhouse and chickens are remained unchanged. The track has transformed into the road. The river is remained same. The farm shop has been constructed above the fruit trees areas.
