The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The plan compares the changes that have taken place in beechwood farm in between 1950 and present day.
Overall, the beechwood farm undergoes significant changes, with several recreational facilities being added or replaced. In addition, the sheep farm was removed, while shop, parking, camping field, solar panels were introduced.
Firstly, in 1950, the site contained several agricultural features, including fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetables, as well as a proper track.
The sheep area occupied northern part of the area, while a barn, farmhouse and chickens areas were located in the east.
Turning to the present day layout, several changes can be observed. The sheep area has been removed, while a car parking, camping field and solar panels were installed, meanwhile a track was converted into a road. Furthermore, a barn, a holiday cottage were built on the eastern part of the farm. Moreover, the farm shop occupied the western part of the site.
