The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The pictorial representations show the changes made in site of a farm known as Beechwood Farm, from the year of 1950 till today.

This farm site is located besides the river, with major changes been made over the converse side of the river. In 1950, there was a spacious area where sheep were kept, which now has been modernized. Today, various construction has been done including installation of solar panels, setting up camping field, and two parking lots. Initially in 1950, there was no parking site. The pathway which was used as a track in 1950, is now being transformed into a road. Moreover, barn was adjacent to the track in 1950, which now is allocated nearby the river, close to the chickens. At the barn place, now holiday cottages are developed. Vegetables, soft fruits, and fruit tree are at the same locations even at today, with only a new invention of farm shop by the fruit trees.

Overall, farm is renovated and turned into a better place, with major changes like camping fields, farm shops, cottages, and parking space. This allows more people to visit beechwood farm, resulting in better productivity and marketing.
