IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The illustration compares a farm's view in 1950 and present.

Overall, a masive change can be observed in the current map of the farm with noticeable enhancement in technology and addition of new sections compared to 1950's including parking area, farm shop, camping field and a section for solar pannels. Similarly, several replacements can also be seen such as barn has been changed to holiday cottages, and the track is now build to a concreate road.

Initailly, the area for sheeps covered a wide range of the farm that has been transformed to a dual parking area, a space for solar pannels and a field for camping in current map. Moreover, barn has been shifted to the south west of farmhouse tracked by the road and the old barn has been changed to holiday cottages.

In the new site, the area for fruit trees shares a new section of farm shop just beside the the road. Whereas, the reamining sections particularly soft fruits site, the vegetable section, the farmhouse and the area for chicks experienced no significant change.
