The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The maps below give information about how Beechwood farm has changed since 1950.

Overall, the farm has upgraded and contains more facilities. Now, the farm has solar panels, two areas for parking section, and a holiday cottages section. Moreover, the farm now has a new camping field area.

To begin with, the soft fruits and vegetables areas are the same as in 1950. A significant portion of the farm was for sheep, but today it is divided into two parts. The first part contains solar panels which are used as a source of renewable energy and a parking section for vehicles. The second part has transformed into camping field which is used by visitors for camping. Also, this part contains a parking section too. In addition, people can also purchase fruits from the farm shop located adjacent to the fruit trees area.

Furthermore, the location of the farmhouse and chicken area is same as it was back in 1950. Today, the farm has roads, whereas in 1950, there were only tracks. Finally, the barn area is now replaced by a new holiday cottages section and barn has been shifted to a new area near the farmhouse section.
