The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The given Plans illustrate how the layout of Beechwould farm has changed from 1950 to the present day.
Overall, the farm has undergone significant development, including the construction of new holiday cottages and camping field, the addition of a parking area, and the installation of solar panels.
Looking first at the Western and central parts of the farm, The fruit trees, soft-fruit area and vegetable fields have remained in their original locations. However, the track running through the farm has been replaced by a road system. in the northern section, a farm shop and a parking area have been constructed closed to the main road. Meanwhile, the area to the north-east of the agricultural land, which was previously occupied by sheep, has been converted into a camping field.
Turning to the eastern and southern parts of the farm, several significant changes can be seen. The original barn has been relocated to the south-west of the farmhouse,while holiday cottages have been built nearby. A further parking area has also been added besides the road. In the far north-east, solar panels have been installed, representing another new feature of the farm. The farmhouse and the area occupied by chickens, however, have remained in approximately the same positions.
